Purpose: Therapeutic Center: focus on particular health issue Goal: General health
Overview: Many Qi Gong exercises contribute to general health improvement and maintenance, but Self-Healing Qi Gong is specifically designed for therapeutic benefits. Self-Healing Qi Gong consists of simple exercises for each organ and its associated system in the body. It is a self-regulating technique, similar to self-administered acupressure for a headache, the flu or a cough or other conditions. All diseases begin with a small imbalance and Self-Healing Qi Gong can help you to take care of a small problem before it becomes a serious issue. In this way you can be accountable for your own health.
The five Self-healing Qi Gong movements are used for: strengthening the stomach, cleansing the liver, fortifying the kidneys, boosting the immunity of the lungs and improving the heart and circulation.
How would I know if these exercises are right for me? If someone gets into a heated argument and becomes so upset that they cannot calm down, or eat, or if they have a headache and become very nervous, that person can practice the liver cleansing movement which will drain the anger (nerves, etc.) away within minutes. Someone who experiences bloating, distension and gas pains after eating might practice the stomach-strengthening sequence and experience relief in a short time. We all have individual tendencies toward certain imbalances. The advantages of Self-Healing Qi Gong practice are: 1) it provides tools that offer timely help, and 2) it also helps each individual to become in tune with their body and learn to prevent potential problems.
Self-Healing Chi Gong is easy to learn and practice from following the video tape or DVD by Dr. Maoshing Ni, available at Tao EShop.
